Welcome, everyone! I’m Angela, and this is a research and information writing course designed especially for fifth graders.

I know you must have a lot of questions.

So, here’s what you need to know.

  • This is an online writing class that young writers may access directly and at no cost.
  • Each lesson will invite writers to do a bit of learning and a bit of creating.
  • They will have a lot of choice as they do.
  • By the end of this class, they will have made a piece of writing that you can be proud of.

What to expect in each lesson:

Many lessons will include an invitation to read and comprehend rich mentor texts.

Mini-Lessons

Daily mini-lessons, led by me–Angela. Each lesson will be just a few minutes long, and it will prepare you to do a bit of making and writing on your own.

Daily Writing Challenges

Each day, you will be challenged to do a bit of writing on your own.
